By far, the best pictures I have so far found of hydrilla are at University of Florida, Center for Aquatic and Invasive Plants (the source of the photo on this page). They also have a short quicktime video that's well worth watching.

It's also worth looking at UF Herbarium - Hydrilla for a zoomable image which can show good detail.
